Seasonal Storage for the Fabrics That Live Outside
Every fall, D.A. Burns cleans and stores outdoor cushions, patio rugs, and umbrella canopies so you don't have to find room for them over the winter. We clean each item using methods that are safe for its specific material, then store it at our facility until you're ready for it again in spring. Payment is due in full at drop-off.

We store the soft goods that make your patio comfortable (not the furniture)
Outdoor Furniture Cushions
Sofa, chair, and chaise cushions, plus outdoor pillows. Fabric types include Sunbrella and other acrylics, cotton canvas, and synthetic outdoor fabrics each cleaned and treated using methods that are safe for that specific material.
Patio & Outdoor Rugs
Outdoor area rugs used on patios, decks, and porches. A great add-on if you're already dropping off cushions and a natural pairing with our rug cleaning bundle offer.
Umbrella Canopies
For market and tilt-style umbrellas, leave the canopy attached to its frame if possible, it's easier for us to clean that way. Cantilever umbrellas aren't accepted as a full unit, but if you remove just the canopy yourself, we're happy to clean it.
What We Don't Store
We store cushions, rugs, and umbrella canopies but not furniture frames, umbrella stands, or cantilever umbrella poles.

THE STORAGE PROGRAM
From Drop-Off to Spring Return
Drop Off
Bring cushions, rugs, and umbrella canopies to D.A. Burns as the weather starts to turn in fall, or ask about pick up. Items that arrive wet or damp are thoroughly dried to prevent mold and mildew. Payment is collected in full at drop-off.
Cleaning & Protecting
Technicians assess fabric type and condition, then clean and treat each item using safe, material-appropriate methods. We then apply a fabric protector to help repel water and prevent stains.
Winter Storage
Cleaned items are wrapped in vented plastic and stored at D.A. Burns throughout the off-season — no need to find space in your garage, shed, or basement.
Minor Repairs
When needed, D.A. Burns can address minor grout imperfections, travertine fill repair, caulk replacement, and minor scratch or etching removal. We do not provide full re-grouting or tile replacement.
Prefer Cleaning Only?
If you have the space to store your own outdoor cushions, we also offer cleaning-only service with a turnaround of about two weeks, no long-term storage required.

Fabric & Condition Check
We identify the material and assess condition before selecting a cleaning method.

Wet or Damp Items
Anything that arrives wet or damp is dried thoroughly first — this prevents mold and mildew during storage.

Cleaning & Protecting
Items are cleaned and, where appropriate, treated with a fabric protectant.

Wrapping for Storage
Cleaned items are wrapped in vented plastic to protect them while they're with us.

Payment & Pickup Timing
Payment is collected in full when we receive the cushions. We'll let you know your item is ready, and ask that pickup happen by Memorial Day.

While your outdoor cushions and rugs are with us, it's a great time to have an indoor area or oriental rug cleaned too. Save 10% on the rug cleaning cost when you combine it with outdoor cushion cleaning & storage. This applies whether you drop off or schedule pickup and delivery. Your indoor rug is cleaned on our normal 10–14 day turnaround and returned promptly.

This program works especially well in neighborhoods where outdoor living is a big part of the year-round routine: Magnolia, Queen Anne, Mercer Island, and Bellevue see some of our highest demand. In areas like Issaquah and Sammamish, homeowners often have more room to store cushions themselves, so many opt for our cleaning-only service instead; cushions are cleaned and returned in about two weeks, no storage required.
